Studio Policies
Billing: Monthly Tuition
60 minutes: $200/mo
45 minutes: $160/mo
30 minutes: $120/mo
TUITION INCLUDES up to FOUR lessons per month. If there is a fifth week in the month, the portal calendar will reflect what weeks there will be lessons. No fewer than THREE lessons will be offered in my availability. This occasional missed week accounts for holidays, illnesses, performances, or anything else that may require canceling lessons. The portal calendar will reflect what weeks there will be lessons. If you are unable to make a lesson for any reason, there will be no credits or refunds. I will offer make-up lessons if I am able to, but it is not a guarantee. Students can make up the missed time by attending the regular group classes. Now included in tuition will be once monthly group classes. These are to be treated either as a bonus to regular lessons, or as a way of making up a missed lesson. The time and location of these studio classes are subject to change. There may not be a studio class on recital months.
INVOICES will be sent out on the 25th of the month, due by the 1st of the month. A late fee of $20 will be added for late payments. There is an autopay option on the student portal to avoid this. Payments are now required through Stripe on the student portal. There will be no longer be a processing fee included.
Scheduling
SCHOOL YEAR: Aug-May
The lesson schedule for the full school year is set in July to begin in August. Please consider possible lesson conflicts for sports and other activities when I am creating the schedule. If you will have regular conflicts, I cannot promise there will be another lesson time available. The studio is currently full, so there is much less flexibility than there has been in the past.
If you need to take a break from lessons for other activities, I allow up to one month break (unpaid) before the lesson time is open to new students. If you would like to guarantee your lesson time after the one-month timeframe, you must pay the full tuition for an ongoing break. Breaks during the summer may be an exception.
SUMMER: June & July
June & July will have a new lesson schedule as required by students and myself. The tuition may be decreased to a lower payment and reflect fewer lesson offerings, TBD. These changes will be communicated to parents well in advance.
Recitals
Students are required to perform in all studio recitals. This usually includes one in the fall and one in the spring. The spring recital requires a piano accompanist with a separate fee of $50 (one rehearsal & performance) to be paid on the day of the rehearsal. There is no separate recital fee for participation or to compensate the extra coaching time during the piano rehearsal.
If a student is unable to attend the recital or has extenuating circumstances that keep them from performing, these need to be communicated and approved by myself well in advance of the performance. If you have to withdraw from the recital after the piano rehearsal, you will only be refunded the performance portion of the payment ($25).
Studio News & Updates
I will send monthly newsletter updates regarding canceled lesson days, group classes, and sign-up for events. Parents/students agree that they will read and stay up to date on the studio news. These will come via text or email.
